Furnace and Inveraray Medical Practice set to join the Three Lochs Medical strategic alliance

NHS Highland has awarded the GMS contract to provide GP services to the patients of the Furnace and Inveraray Surgery.

"Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is delighted to announce that following a competitive recruitment process Dr Robert Coull has been successful in his application to take over the General Medical Services (GMS) contract for the Furnace and Inveraray Medical Practice....The HSCP would also like to thank Lochgilphead Medical Practice, who held the previous GMS contract, for their work caring for the patients at Furnace and Inveraray as well as their assistance during the recent recruitment process."

Fiona Duff, Interim Head of Primary Care for the HSCP, said "We would like to thank the local community for their ongoing engagement with the HSCP over the last few months and also those community representatives who helped us with the recruitment process and interviews."

Robbie Coull and Eleanor Earnshaw will take over the running of Furnace and Inveraray Surgery on the 1st of August, 2024.  This is the date that the previous contractors, the Lochgilphead Medical Practice, will cease to provide services.  This allows us to do a direct handover to our service and avoids the needs for the Health Board or HSCP to run the practice with locums.

The reception, admin, and nursing staff will all have the option to continue their contracts with the new service.

The practice will join Strachur Medical Practice in the Three Lochs Medical strategic alliance on the 1st of August 2024.
